AirBnb. Uber. Amazon Prime. What do LawGo and these companies have in common, and what does it have to do with you?
We are living in the age of the consumer where regular people enjoy luxuries that seemed unimaginable even just a decade ago. Thanks to Uber, everyone can summon their own private driver, not only the rich. Thanks to AirBnb, traveling the world is now a luxury attainable by the middle class, not only the wealthy.
Amazon Prime delivers whatever you desire faster than a private butler ever could. And thanks to LawGo, having a personal lawyer at your fingertips is no longer a privilege reserved only for the wealthy.
Imagine having your own lawyer, on demand: that is LawGo. Like Uber and AirBnb, LawGo leverages technology, great people, and underutilized market supply in order to provide a service that even 10 years ago would have been unimaginable. LawGo’s founders Heather John and Jessica Chen met and became friends in college in 2001 in their hometown of Toronto. They reunited 10 years later in New York City where they were both leading busy professional lives, Heather as an attorney and Jessica as a consultant.
They both began their careers at large firms serving even larger corporations but, coming from humble backgrounds themselves, they were deeply motivated to create a company and change the world in a way that would improve the lives of regular people.
Running her own technology and small business law practice in New York City, Heather observed time and again that the average person still finds it difficult to obtain the help of a good lawyer at a reasonable price.
This seemed silly, because Heather knew there were plenty of great solo and small firm lawyers who would be happy to service these clients at affordable prices if only there was a way for them to do so efficiently. These great lawyers were wasting upwards of half their time each day doing administrative and marketing work instead of what they were highly trained to do: practice law!
The current system wasn’t working for lawyers or for the people who needed them, so in 2014 Jessica and Heather teamed up to create LawGo, providing affordable, fixed-fee legal services on demand.
LawGo’s mission is simple: to provide regular people with access to great legal services. The legal knowledge and power that was previously accessible only by the wealthy or lucky few is now available to you with the click of a button.
We hope you will join us on this journey and we invite you to enjoy the luxury of your personal lawyer, on demand.
